Happy 6th birthday to my port!!! Perry is 6 and I cant believe it. He has been with me through thick and thin and I really cant imagine life without him! He has been a pain this past year but we still manage…. It really sounds like I am talking about some perfect kind of man and not my port!!!!
My port really makes my blood draws and meds such a breeze. It really has lowered the amount of bruises all those blown veins and missed sticks made! !
This past year I have needed to use a clot busting medicine in the port to have a blood return TWICE!!
It is a pretty easy process, they put the med in and let it sit for 30 min and pull it back out and BAM a beautiful blood return. The nurses are telling me that this happens after years of having it and if it keeps going on a port study will need to be done to make sure everything is running smoothly.
Overall, I have been so thankful my doctor made the decision to put my port in! Here is to a few more great years together!!!
